Southern Health-Santé Sud will be hosting two Accreditation Canada Surveyors May 26 – 30th 2025. The last time we had a visit was in May 2023, and our region was assessed on 21 standards.

This year, we have moved to a provincial sequential model, and only certain standards will be assessed including:

  • Communication
  • Human Capital
  • Integrated Quality Management (Quality & Patient Safety)
  • Medical Devices & Equipment
  • People Centred Care
  • Physical Environment
  • Planning & Service Design
  • Principle Based Care & Decision Making (Ethics)
  • Resource Allocation (Finance)
• Infection Prevention & Control (corporate criteria)
• Medication Management (corporate criteria)
• Emergency & Disaster Management

Surveyors will be assessing the above standards at the following sites:
Bethesda Regional Health Centre & Bethesda Place
Boundary Trails Health Centre
Carman Memorial Hospital
Morris General Hospital
Hôpital Ste-Anne Hospital

All staff in Southern Health-Santé Sud are welcome and encouraged to review the Accreditation resources and information in preparation for the upcoming visit. Directors, Managers and Educators of impacted sites will also be assisting staff in preparation for the survey week.

The Southern Health-Santé Sud Accreditation Debrief will take place on Friday May 30th from 9:00-10:00 am. All staff are welcome to join virtually. Please keep an eye out for posters and announcements closer to this date.
