Canadian Triage Acuity Scale (CTAS) guidelines have been updated and all triage nurses are required to complete the NEW CTAS course by June 30, 2025. The education will be paid time, if attending on a day off, to a maximum of 7.75 hours.

In order to provide ample opportunities for triage nurses within Southern Health-Santé Sud, Provincial Travel Nurse Team, Agencies and other SDO’s, our regional CTAS instructors have set numerous virtual course dates throughout May and June.

Dates for these courses can be found on the StaffNET education events (select Category: CTAS). Register early to secure your spot NOW, as spaces are limited for each course, as directed by NENA.

Courses require a minimum of 6 participants in order to run. If minimum numbers are not attained, the course will be cancelled and staff will need to register for a different date. Triage nurses from around the province are welcome to attend.

EDIS will also be updated with the new CTAS guidelines and rolled out by July 1, 2025. Stay tuned for more information.
