Digital Security Advisory – Phishing Attacks on the Rise
Digital Shared Services is warning about a rise in phishing attacks (email), vishing attacks (phone), and fake login pages.
We are seeing more attacks where scammers try to get users to provide their MFA credentials. Never accept or approve unexpected MFA prompts.
We are also seeing more attacks where scammers will call users claiming to be from IT Support. If you receive a call from someone claiming to be from the Service Desk and you have doubts about their authenticity, please let them know you will contact the Service Desk directly and hang up.
Lastly, scammers will often create a fake website, and tell users to go there so they can steal their credentials.
Scammers thrive on human error, often using high-pressure tactics to force employees into revealing credentials, approving MFA prompts, or having them log on to websites. If something feels off, or you encounter suspicious activity, report it to the Service Desk immediately. Fast reporting helps protect everyone.
