February is Heart Month

This year Heart & Stroke is raising awareness of the importance of understanding and managing modifiable risk factors that contribute to heart disease and stroke with the release of our heart month Report on Cardiovascular Risk Factors. Risks for heart disease and stroke are common: 9 in 10 Manitobans have at least one risk factor for heart disease or stroke. To help, Heart & Stroke has built a quick and easy Risk Screen tool, free of charge to support Manitobans in understanding their heart and brain health risks and take action to reduce or manage them. The Risk Screen tool takes into account various factors including lifestyle, medical history, sex, age and life stages specific to women such as pregnancy and menopause and provides a customized action plan, just for you.
