Personal Wellness Days

As we continue to look at opportunities to support your physical and mental well-being, we are pleased to share that effective immediately Personal Wellness Days will be made available for use by non-union employees and management.

PERSONAL WELNESS DAYS
Personal Wellness Days are designated paid days off that employees can use specifically to focus on their physical, mental, and emotional health. These days encourage individuals to prioritize self-care, foster work-life balance, reduce stress, and enhance overall well-being.

DETAILS OF THE PROGRAM

  • Employees may use up to two (2) paid Wellness Days per fiscal year.
  • These days are deducted from your accumulated income protection credits/sick time.
  • The use of Wellness Days must not reduce your total income protection credits to fewer than twelve (12) days.
  • Wellness Days do not carry forward to the next fiscal year if unused.

USAGE GUIDELINES

  • Wellness Days may be used for physical or mental wellness.
  • They may be taken consecutively, but cannot be taken immediately before or after a vacation leave.
  • Employees must submit their request at least 24 hours in advance, but no more than 72 hours prior to the requested day(s).
  • Requests will be considered based on operational requirements and will not be unreasonably denied.

Please note that Wellness Days are provided in a spirit of support and well-being. Use of these days will not be considered as part of our attendance management program.

The absence time code for Wellness Days is currently in progress. In the interim, please code the use of Wellness Days as income protection. Once the absence code is available you will need to make the corrections.
