We Will Take Good Care of the People Indigenous Cultural Safety Training

New training is now available for health care professionals across the province. This training is a replacement of the former Sanya’s Manitoba Indigenous Cultural Safety Training (MICST). Giga Mino Ganawenin Anishinaabek meaning We Will Take Good Care of the People in Anishinaabemowin, was developed by Ongomiizwin Indigenous Institute of Health and Healing, in partnership with Manitoba’s health regions.

The training will be offered as an online, self-paced education that looks at cultural safety through a Manitoba-specific lens. Each region will be provided a set number of seats annually with early priority groups ranging from leadership to patient-facing areas.

Course participants will have a six-month period to complete the education via Learning Management System (LMS), which includes a range of activities promoting learning and reflection. They will also have access to a coach facilitator to support integrating their learning into daily practice.

For more information on this course including FAQs, eligibility and resources, please access the Shared Health website.

Training to be completed during scheduled work time.
