Baby Friendly Initiative – Breastfeeding Essentials Course | Carman
This 6-hour in-person course provides information and hands on skills to enhance the healthcare providers knowledge of breast/chest feeding to assist the patient to attain their infant needing goals. Topics include:
- Communication and Informed Decision Making
- Starting Things Off Right
- Alternative Feeding Methods
- Breast/Chest-feeding Common Issues
Who should attend: Midwives, Public Health Nurses, Obstetrical Nurses
Pre-requisite: Completion of the Step 2 Breastfeeding Essentials Course or the Alberta Health Services 20-hour Breastfeeding Course
NOTE:
- No registration fee for this session.
- Please arrive 15 minutes early for registration. Registration will be begin at 0915.
- Participants will be responsible for their own lunch/snacks/refreshments.
- Dress in layers as the room temperature can fluctuate.
- Registration is open until (1) week prior to the session.
