Speaker bio:
Sabrina Houle-Schlup, a proud member of Ebb and Flow First Nation, has been a dedicated bison producer in Manitoba since 1999. Over the past four years, her successful cow-calf operation has finished 200 calves, with some distributed across the U.S. Sabrina’s goal is to make bison meat accessible to Indigenous communities, including local healthcare facilities such as personal care homes and hospitals. Rooted in traditional practices, she also honors the animal by practicing techniques like tanning hides and utilizing every part to support her family.
Sabrina shares her knowledge through land-based teachings and school tours, offering other insights into Indigenous practices and a connection to the land.
