Care that Connects | The Competencies Behind Compassionate Palliative Care (Virtual)

Why Competencies Matter in Home-Based Palliative Care

When it comes to delivering palliative care in the home, healthcare providers need more than just clinical expertise — they need the right combination of knowledge, practical skills, and emotional intelligence to truly make a difference. The Canadian Interdisciplinary Palliative Care Competency Framework defines competencies as the mix of skills, knowledge, and attitudes that influence how we care. These can be measured, developed, and strengthened through training, helping care teams grow both professionally and personally.
