SCHIPP | Peer Leader Training

Southern Health–Santé Sud is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for all health care workers (HCW) and patients/residents/clients. It is our responsibility to provide training to staff on safe client handling procedures and the equipment required to assist the client to reduce hazards and promote safe work for both the client and each health care worker.

The SCHIPP for Peer Leaders has been developed to familiarize the front-line staff selected to be Leaders with the SCHIPP framework and goals. The Peer Leaders will be provided with strategies to support their co-workers with the implementation of the revised Safe Client Handling and Injury Prevention Program.

Who should attend:   includes Nurses (RN, RPN, LPN), Home Care Resource Coordinators, Clinical Resource Nurses and Health Care Aide employees.

Held in the Multipurpose Room

NOTE:

  • This is an active session. The participant should come prepared with proper footwear and clothing conducive for participating in the Safe Client Handling Techniques. Please wear clothing that is non-restrictive, proper footwear (for example, running shoes), and minimal amount of jewelry.
  • Participants will be responsible for their own meals/drinks/snacks.
  • The sessions will be open to approximately 8 registrants.
  • Each participant must attend the 2-day session.
  • Registration closes 2 weeks prior to the session.
