The Ontario Poison Centre (OPC) is offering brief, 15-minute drop-in Zoom sessions to support the rollout of the updated IV acetylcysteine (NAC) protocol for acetaminophen toxicity, effective April 1.

Sessions will be led by OPC poison specialists and will review the updated protocol, walk through the corresponding patient care resources (including where to access them), and provide time for questions.

OPC supports both a 1-bag and a 2-bag method for IV NAC administration.
These are not different protocols– the dosing and course of treatment are identical.
