On behalf of Human Resources and Staff Development/Infection Prevention and Control, our goal is to work together to streamline the process.  We would like to share with you some of the changes we have made for orientation.

For Managers, the  Onboarding Checklist – New Employee  has been updated, which can be found on this page.

The orientation page Orientation – SH-SS StaffNET will look a bit different.  The Orientation Welcome Letter is now on the main orientation page. The goal is to use the Orientation Welcome Letter to guide the new employee to complete their orientation education.  At this time, the manager or designate will need to check off what must be completed and to register the employee for any in-person sessions.

The separate Regional and Facility Orientation checklists will no longer be in use as it is incorporated into the electronic sign in sheet at the end of Virtual Regional Orientation and Virtual Facility Orientation education. The infographic is no longer needed as these details are incorporated into the Orientation Welcome Letter.

We have worked with the Learning Management System Team to create the SH-SS Onboarding Bundle, which include the courses that are in the Onboarding Checklist – New Employee, making it easier for new employees to get registered for the courses.  It is imperative that staff get their Southern Health Santé Sud email as soon as possible so that they can create a Learning Management System account and get started on the rest of their orientation.

Staff are expected to read all policies in the Policies, Sign-Off & Information Sheets Checklist as indicated in the Onboarding Checklist – New Employee.
