EAP Workshop | Mental Health Awareness (Virtual)
This workshop would provide an overview of mental health/illness, some common symptoms, and available resources. It would also serve to help dispel some of the myths and stigma surrounding mental illness. Some questions and topics for discussion would include:
- What is mental health? What is mental illness?
- What are some of the myths that surround mental illness? What are some of our own biases towards, and judgments about, people with mental illness?
- Who is affected by mental illness?
- How prevalent is it in Canada?
- What are some of the more common mental disorders, and what are the symptoms?
- How can we help someone who is struggling with a mental illness, and/or their families?
- What are some resources we can be aware of and provide to those who need help?
Who should attend: all staff
Held virtually via TEAMS
Participants will need access to a computer with speakers and a microphone in order to participate virtually.
A max. of 75 participants and a min. of 25.
REGISTRATION is on LMS:
- Go to the LMS log in page. Your pop-up blocker must be disabled.
- Create an LMS account (if you don’t already have one). A work email address is required – please connect with your hiring manager for assistance with this.
- Log into the LMS.
- Use the search feature (top right) to find “EAP” and then click register on the workshop(s) you wish to take.
- After you have registered for the workshop, it will appear in your “learning plan” and you will be sent the link for the virtual session. Please note that all communication from the LMS will be sent to your work email.
