Vacancy Management
Southern Health-Santé Sud has implemented Vacancy Management to help the region achieve its vacancy management savings target. A minimum of 4 months vacancy will be applied to vacant, non-direct care positions within Management (out-of-scope/in-scope), non-union – non management and potentially some in-scope positions. This will include all permanent, term and indefinite term positions.
Managers/Directors/Directors of Health Services should be aware of all vacancies within their facility and/or programs. Critical positions delivering direct, essential frontline care or services may be replaced as per usual process.
Planned vacancies will be communicated to your respective Financial Analyst for tracking purposes. Approval to fill vacant non-direct care positions without the 4-month vacancy period may be given in exceptional circumstances only, the Request to Staff Non-Exempt Position template must be completed with your respective Senior Leader and then approved by Senior Leadership Team prior to any recruitment.
