Nurses Recruitment & Retention Fund

The application period for 2024-2025 NRRF funding is now OPEN.

The Provincial Nurses Recruitment and Retention Fund Committee have approved Southern Health-Santé Sud funding for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. The Regional Nurses Recruitment and Retention Fund Education Committee (NRRF Committee) has reviewed the distribution of these funds to nurses in Southern Health-Santé Sud and has determined that the payment will allow monies to be accessed by individual nurses (RN, RPN, RN (EP), LPN, first level nurse manager).

Only those requests for courses/workshops between March 16, 2024 and March 14, 2025 will be considered, deadline to receive applications is March 14, 2025.

There can be multiple education event requests (workshop or course) for funding per nurse to a maximum amount of $1000.00. However still only a one-time submission per nurse.
Requests will be date-stamped upon receipt and will be considered on a first come, first served basis, however incomplete requests will be returned.
All fully completed requests for funding with appropriate signatures must be emailed to rr@southernhealth.ca.
Contract or Affiliate Health Corporation sites will be paid directly by Southern Health—the facility must organize payment to employee.
Where applicable, staff are encouraged to access education development allowance (MNU) toward registration/tuition fees prior to requesting NRRF funding. These MNU funding requests are submitted to department managers not through NRRF.

Incomplete requests will be returned.
