Learning Opportunities
Active Offer in Health Care Training
Designed to equip health care professionals with an enhanced skill set and the knowledge needed to provide Active Offer of French language services in the sites and units where they work. This training should take approximately 10-15 minutes.
- Training accessible via LMS (available in English or in French)
- Training accessible via MS Forms in English or
- Training accessible via MS Forms in French
The Active Offer training is mandatory every two years for all Southern Health-Santé Sud staff.
Learn or Improve Your French language Skills
Le français en milieu de santé 
Classes led by an instructor from Université de Saint-Boniface’s Continuing Education Division. Training is tailored to the practical needs of workers and administrators in the healthcare sector at various stages of learning. Learn from the comfort of your home!
- all levels are offered virtually in real time
- sessions held weekly over a 10-week period
- course costs are covered by Santé en français however a $50 is required to cover admin-coordination fees
- technology requirements: a computer, an internet connection and a headset with microphone

Rosetta Stone 
An online language course that lets the employee immerse themselves in their new learning language. New vocabulary is introduced with images and these language components are then linked together in even more complex combinations. In this way, intuition and the ability to combine are addressed and the learning material is retained in the long term memory.
- Offered Virtually – Accessible 24/7/365 – Learn at the pace and place of your choosing (desktop or mobile)
- All levels are offered, from Beginner to Advanced
- Practices Speaking, Reading and Writing capabilities
- Lending periods are 3 months and can be renewed pending progress and availability
- Free of charge
