Physician Onboarding

In November 2019 a Yellow Belt Lean Project was initiated to focus on standardization and improvement opportunities. The team focused on the process for onboarding and orientation time frames. This included reviewing the role and responsibilities of staff/departments/physician from when a physician confirms their start date to when that physician starts providing care in an acute care setting. Our goal was to understand this process more fully, identify opportunities for improvement, test trial changes and consider spreading changes if tests were successful.
