Better Flow
In December 2019, a Yellow Belt Lean Project was initiated to focus on the disorganization of the plumbing department at Eden Mental Health Centre (EMHC). Our team focused on the timeframe for 12 plumbing repair jobs to identify the amount of time it takes each job to be completed, as well as how many times the maintenance worker searches for the correct part or tool. Throughout this 5S project, our goal is to understand and identify wastes, deficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. We also looked to test changes made, and eventually spread these changes to other maintenance departments if tests are successful.
